Two visitors uncover a mutual, lost background amid the warmth of a Barcelona summer in Julio Castro’s component debut, End of the 100 years.

100 years, featuring a sexual encounter between two boys, Ocho and Javi, before they understand that they had an identical experience with each other 20 years before, is mostly about opportunity: How it stretches, folds, sectors straight back on by itself and repeats. It is also how the times right here looks immediately endless and fleeting. And just how, importantly, our very own times was irreversible. These are motifs that, we picture, places on us more and more difficult as we age.

We meet Ocho initially, an Argentine located in ny and seeing Barcelona.

He is a good looking guy, a dead-ringer for musician/character actor Richard Edson, with a lanky frame and swooping black locks. He traverses the city alone, checks into an Airbnb alone, and scrolls through Grindr before giving up and sleeping alone. 24 hours later, the guy sees Javi, a similarly elderly Spaniard from Berlin, throughout the beach. Despite their shared affection, they neglect both until Ocho, looking from their balcony, phone calls call at an endeavor to bring Javi as much as his Airbnb, “Kiss!”
